The Morning After the Night Before
The headlines in the UK this morning are dominated by the attack on the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall’s limo by student protestors . The picture of the shocked but physically unscathed couple is a perfect metaphor for the country’s coalition government which, last night, won a vote on raising the cap on university tuition fees but in the process seem to have been left psychologically scarred.

Jonathan Powell on the 2010 UK General Election
On Tuesday, 11th May, we were fortunate to have Jonathan Powell, former chief of staff to Prime Minister Tony Blair in our London offices to speak to an invited group of Ambassadors and diplomatic officials. As the negotiations continued over who would govern Britain, Mr Powell assessed the performance of all the parties in the 2010 General Election, and what it would mean for the future.
