Point/Counterpoint: Will President Obama Help or Hurt Democrats?

He is hurting. Clearly, the blame for the country’s mood – uncertainty over the economy, lack of job growth, fear of the future – is attributable, right or wrong, to the president. It was true when Bush 41 and Bush 43 were president, true when Clinton was president and, sort of, true when Reagan was president. The table is set by the president in the voters’ minds. The anger, though, will be directed against those perceived as “insiders.” There are more Democrat incumbents; thus, Democrats stand to lose the most.

I was encouraged by [...]

Writing on the Wall

Posted by Cassandra PyeThere are so many analogies. A two year old fighting sleep. A middle-schooler refusing to admit he likes girls. My 17 year old asking me tonight, yet again, to take a road trip to Vegas with his friends (not!). As I write, North Carolina is over and there are about 200,000 uncounted [...]
