Spitzer Blitzer
Posted by Craig Fuller
One definition associated with “blitz” is “to destroy or demolish through bombing.”
We surely are witnessing the destruction of a political career in the case of Governor Spitzer. Aside from the appropriate compassion all of us have for the members of the Governor’s family, no one has even come close to offering a defense.
Hence, no surprise that the conservative and liberal blogs obsessed on the plight of the soon-to-be-former governor.
My take away reading yesterday’s clouds from both sides is that the Spitzer matter needs to be resolved soon as it seems to be sucking the air out of the room….virtually speaking. While Senators Obama and Clinton are mentioned, neither conservative nor liberal bloggers found much time to even mention Republican nominee-designate John McCain. Spitzer dominated….
While the Spitzer story will be ongoing with more sad revelations to come, this issue will come off the front page and out of the our clouds shortly after the Governor resigns.
I suspect we can look forward to a new name in the clouds soon….Geraldine Ferraro. My goodness, are we getting a little tense, or what?
