Martin Ledwon
Mr. Ledwon’s expertise lies in the field of government relations, issues management, crisis communication and corporate communication. Mr. Ledwon has counseled numerous clients primarily in the fields of energy, health care and food and beverages, and has experience in strategic positioning as well as mergers and acquisitions related to public affairs communication.
Prior to joining APCO in early 2006, Mr. Ledwon worked at Burson-Marsteller’s public affairs office in Berlin. The focus of his work was on political monitoring, issue management and government relations strategies. Before that he worked as a researcher at the FDP Parliamentary Faction in the German Bundestag and interned with AOL Time Warner’s government relations department. He also worked in the International Affairs Department of the Social Science Research Centre Berlin (WZB). In addition he co-authored the “Handbook of the German Lobbyist.”
Mr. Ledwon holds a master’s degree in German literature and studied English language and literature at the Free University Berlin. During the course of his studies he spent one year at the National University of Ireland, Galway as a DAAD scholar studying sociology, philosophy and history. Prior to his studies he worked as a volunteer in a college for the physically challenged in Cheltenham, England. He speaks German (native), fluent English, some French and understands Russian and Spanish.
