USA Weekend has been sponsoring this national volunteering day since 1992.

Several service-minded groups are co-sponsoring the event this year, including EIF’s iParticipate, Hands on Network and AARP’s Create the Good, by encouraging their members and constituents to serve.

If you don’t already have a volunteer activity lined up for tomorrow, check out the DAYtaBANK on the Make a Difference Day website.

Or, think of something simple you and your family can do to help a neighbor, friend or fellow citizen-in-need, such as making a meal for someone who is sick, raking leaves for someone who no longer can manage their yard work, or delivering personal care items to a community shelter.

It doesn’t matter how big or small your gesture is…just get out there and do something to help your community.
